Vacation

Super vacation at the lake last week. We were able to relax, eat, drink and spend lots of time with family. Too bad I got a double ear infection after the first jump in the lake.... Ouch!
The kids were great - always stayed on schedule. Lloyd lazed all day inside and out.
Here are a few photos from the week.

Catching Up

I smelled the water today. It stopped me in my tracks. It makes me think that I am near the ocean. Do you know that smell? Well, we have that smell here on our lake that looks like an ocean. I take a deep breath and breathe it in really deep. I may do that a couple of times…I fill my lungs up with that summer smell. We are just 3 days away from the Summer Solstice. How do you celebrate the longest day of the summer? We will be on vacation – but I think it’s a good day to make a point in watching the sunrise and sunset. It should be a day of celebrating the Earth’s rewards – fresh fruits and veggies. I think the day will end with a nice bonfire.

I am sorry that I was in a bit of a blog funk. Hopefully, I can get back into it again.

The reunion was outstanding. However, I must confess there was too much to drink and not enough sleep. It was great to run into people I knew in college… these are not people I would necessarily call friends. They were just people whose names I knew…. But somehow a reunion makes you friendly. Reunions are really awesome just for that reason. The best part about the weekend was hanging with Meg, Kelly and Dan. These are people that have known me forever, have known my very bad times and good times. And when we get together and laugh together, at each other and at ourselves… then you know that life is just that good.

The kids had a nice time with their Aunt Pattie. I think she was a bit stressed by the end of the weekend. Ellie has been crawling for a few weeks now and just overnight she was finally sitting up on her own.
John tried to run away the other day. I turned my head for 2 seconds and he had slid open the back screen door, climbed out onto the deck and was on his way down the stairs…. Good Grief!

I don’t’ like to post without pictures and I seem to be doing more and more of that. I’ll try to be better.

Start to the Week

Red Sox vs. Indians at The Prog tonight with Cindy.  Look for us behind home plate. Cindy got some awesome tickets.  Look for Andy wearing a Red Sox tattoo sleeve.  Thanks Cindy. Lisa and Chris Basting are babysitting. I am hoping that Lisa can work her magic and get the kids to stay up a wee bit later so that maybe they can sleep past 5 am.  I really need to get their schedule adjusted….
Pack and prepare for the 20th Reunion this weekend. Kiddos are staying with their Aunt Pattie so that Andy and I can party freely with the rest of the Alumni.  I never did get down to my college weight like I so wanted to do.  Very much looking forward to seeing Kelly & Meg; even though I don’t need a college reunion to see them.  Cheers to 20 years!

Radio Flyer

I forgot to mention one of the best happenings over the weekend. This was delivered on Friday. My dear Aunt Rosemary and Uncle John sent the kids such a special gift. However, some parts were missing from the box – so we don’t have it together yet. The kids already love sitting in it. My favorite part is the cupholders. Cupholders for 10 month olds…. How cute!

In the meantime, the giant box is a lot of fun.

Memorial Day

We had a very nice lloooonnngg weekend.  And I just realized that I have lapsed in blogging and therefore you did not get an update on our trip to Boston.  So, I am going to do this quickly... the twins are napping and there is much to do....

Boston: Twins were antsy in the laps on the flight there.  Airline lost a car seat. Rented a minivan. Twins slept in pack n' plays int Auntie Hilary's diningroom.  Naps were light.  Downtown was wonderful as usual. Lunch at Border Cafe with friends. 3 margaritas at lunch. Cookouts and visits with relatives. Beautiful weather.  Flight home - both babies slept. Ahhhh.....

Long weekend:  yard work, flower plantings, infant pool, swimming butt naked (babies not me), cookout with friends on the beach, lake was choppy, breeze felt great, family walks, burgers, hot dogs, salads and ice cream.  Dinner and music out with friends on Saturday. Fun fun!

I hope you had a good weekend spent with family and friends, taking in the sunshine and eating wonderful summer food.
