I smelled the water today. It stopped me in my tracks. It makes me think that I am near the ocean. Do you know that smell? Well, we have that smell here on our lake that looks like an ocean. I take a deep breath and breathe it in really deep. I may do that a couple of times…I fill my lungs up with that summer smell. We are just 3 days away from the Summer Solstice. How do you celebrate the longest day of the summer? We will be on vacation – but I think it’s a good day to make a point in watching the sunrise and sunset. It should be a day of celebrating the Earth’s rewards – fresh fruits and veggies. I think the day will end with a nice bonfire.
I am sorry that I was in a bit of a blog funk. Hopefully, I can get back into it again.
The reunion was outstanding. However, I must confess there was too much to drink and not enough sleep. It was great to run into people I knew in college… these are not people I would necessarily call friends. They were just people whose names I knew…. But somehow a reunion makes you friendly. Reunions are really awesome just for that reason. The best part about the weekend was hanging with Meg, Kelly and Dan. These are people that have known me forever, have known my very bad times and good times. And when we get together and laugh together, at each other and at ourselves… then you know that life is just that good.
The kids had a nice time with their Aunt Pattie. I think she was a bit stressed by the end of the weekend. Ellie has been crawling for a few weeks now and just overnight she was finally sitting up on her own.
John tried to run away the other day. I turned my head for 2 seconds and he had slid open the back screen door, climbed out onto the deck and was on his way down the stairs…. Good Grief!
I don’t’ like to post without pictures and I seem to be doing more and more of that. I’ll try to be better.
